I haven’t been doing much of anything with my own site, but I have been coding AO3 site skins to practice CSS, and that’s been fun so far!

What kind of skins have you been making? 👀

I’ve mostly been fidgeting with colors! Reversi is a great default, but something a little darker with cream-colored text is easier on my eyes. Beyond that, I’ve been playing with the kind of accent colors I think would work best (it turns out that the default red on a dark background is a recipe for eye strain), and I’ve also made a few in monochrome palettes of various colors I like even though I’d never personally use them since they kind of hurt my eyes.

I’ve been meaning to look into a tutorial for color-coding tags based on which section they were entered in, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
