I've also been run off my feet this summer and while September might be more sane, I'm not expecting to have the kind of free time I had this time last year when I was literally on holiday xD (Though, only for the first week and a half of the event) So, I was wondering about recruiting a helper or two to make sure comments get a reply - I'd like it if everyone who leaves a comment on each check-in post gets a reply from someone, and a lot of times that just comes from people organically chatting to each other, but it would be great to make sure that no-one is left out. Last year I took it upon myself to do all those replies, but it was a lot and I fell behind and felt bad xD
So I think the sensible thing to do would be to ask if anyone wants to help out with this xD I was thinking I could make a pre-announcement post to the comm similar to last year, so people know it's coming up, and mention it there.
Another thing I was thinking is that last year, we decided that the check-in posts shouldn't be too excessive because the comm was pretty quiet, and while there's more people around now, I still think that one a week is a good frequency to make sure that people have time to do stuff in between. But I was thinking of encouraging people to make posts in between if they want to share a cool resource, ask for help, talk about their projects, and what have you. People did that anyway last time, and they do it now, so it would mostly be a level of reassurance that it's okay (and welcome) to make direct posts to the comm if you want to, which may result in an uptick in posts. Is there anything that would concern you about that possibility? Are there any types of post that would be off-limits, or are we good to go as long as people follow the Community Guidelines?
