That's valid. I did sometimes feel that using any of these excessively is like jingling keys in front of a baby (LOL), but they create a sense of parasocial camaraderie if the viewer agrees with an opinion expressed or is also an identity listed by one of these graphics. If you're looking for friends they can be good way of achieving that, but I respect sites who eschew these graphics entirely too.
