I use nekoweb in addition to neocities. I personally prefer the neocities editor and layout a lot more. (Also, the nekoweb owner and staff give me weird vibes every time I go onto their discord.)
Though if people are looking to get away from the social side of neocities, nekoweb doesn't really have that so it might be a good option for that.
